Earth Hour is organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Hundreds of millions of people around the world take part in Earth Hour by switching off for 60 minutes as a symbolic gesture of solidarity.
Earth Hour is at 8:30 on Saturday 27 March. Any Australians can take part in Earth Hour. All they have to do is switch off all of the lights in their home for an hour. This action, when undertaken on a global basis, can show how individuals can make a difference.
Earth Hour started in Sydney in 2007. Since then, Earth Hour has become a global movement for change, and has had an impact all over the world. This year, in 2021, your participation and support for Earth Hour can be tagged in socials with the #switchfornature hashtag.
