July 2025 Update

During the first half of 2025, the Understanding Faith team have been working on some new features and updated content.

This update will be completed during the school holidays so there is no disruption to your RE lessons. You can expect the following changes to be live in our 2025 midyear update.

HOME PAGE NOTIFICATION POPUP:

A new notification feature has been added to the Home Page. This will pop up on a users first visit showing any new notifications or special announcements from the Understanding Faith team. The notifications can be crossed off after the first view and will then be available as a small “Open Popup” tab located on the left of the Home Page. The first notification is a link to a slideshow Remembering the Holy Father Francis.

NAVIGATION / SEARCH UPDATES:

A “Search Tools” link has been created on the bottom menu bar

• The “Multimedia Index” search and “Scripture Index” search has been moved under this category
• An “Overview Index” has been created for the Primary resource (this is under construction in the Secondary resource)
  • This index provides the overview of the content within the parts of each unit
  • Use this to get a quick view of what each part is about or to find a unit suitable for your needs
• A “Full Index” has been created for both resources
  • This index combines all content in to the one search tool
  • Use this if you are unsure of the type of item you are looking for or would like to see all content available for a particular theme
• A highly anticipated “Advanced Search” has been added
  • See a small snippet of the page content surrounding your searched word or phrase
  • All search queries are highlighted on both the results page and the destination page
  • All clicked links will now show a change in colour when the page has been visited

CONTENT UPDATES:

Primary:
– Full updates to Units 44-41
– Updates and enhancements to interactive activities and slideshows
– Updates and enhancements to images
– Inclusion of the new Pope Leo XIV where relevant

Secondary:
– Full updates to Units 48-51
– Updates and enhancements to interactive activities and slideshows
– Updates and enhancements to images
– Conversion of all podcasts within these units to the new format
– Inclusion of the new Pope Leo XIV where relevant

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MAY NEED TO CLEAR YOUR CACHE IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE CHANGES! To clear your cache, you can typically find an option within your web browser’s settings or preferences, usually under the “Clear History” options, or press Ctrl + Shift + Delete in your browser on Windows, or Command + Shift + Delete in your browser on Mac. From this new screen, you can select or deselect what is needed to be cleared.
