This year, Advent begins on Sunday the 27th of November. During the time between then and Christmas, we prepare for the coming of Jesus. To assist you help your students prep for the coming of Jesus, we have created this interactive Advent calendar to allow you to engage through personal prayer and reflection. Please see below.
On the 16th and 17th of June, Janita, Kim and Chloe from the Understanding Faith team attended the National RE Symposium at the International Conference Centre in Darling Harbour. This conference is organised by BBI-TAITE, The Australian Institute of Theological Education, with this year’s theme of ‘Scripture and RE: Teaching and Transformation’.
At the start of the year, we sent out a survey to our subscribers about our resource. We’ve received all the results and have been going through the feedback, to draw out the most common responses, and to gain some insight where we can continue to improve our product. Here is some feedback developed from the results, from our manager, Jacob.
Understanding Faith is an educational ministry of St Agnes’ Parish, Port Macquarie, under the leadership of Parish Priest, Father Paul Gooley.
We are very proud of our unique multimedia resource, which links student content, Church teachings and Scripture, to interactive activities, video excerpts, radio broadcasts, music, newspaper articles, slideshows, and the internet – as well as pedagogically sound and contemporary teaching and learning activities.
This year seems to have flown by! I know we all say it every year, but it really does seem as though 2018 has gone particularly fast. And this time of year is always so busy!

Does My Child Need to Participate in the Sacraments? Many parents, even Catholic ones, ask themselves this question when they send their children off to Catholic Schools. Often they have trouble deciding, because they don’t really even know what a sacrament is, or what sacramental programs entail.
