We are pleased to announce that the Understanding Faith July 2026 release is now available.
This release includes updated Primary and Secondary units, new multimedia, improved search tools and a new curriculum mapping feature designed to help teachers locate relevant resources more easily.
Primary Resource Updates
From January to July 2026, Primary resource development focused on updating and enhancing existing units.
Completed work included:
- Full updates to Primary Units 33, 34 and 35
- Updates and enhancements to interactive activities and slideshows
- Improvements to images and the visual presentation of content
- Inclusion of a range of new multimedia resources
- Inclusion and refinement of the Liturgy of the Word Planner
- Update of all Important Words PDF documents to the new format and visual style
- Introduction of a new embedded curriculum mapping tool designed to directly link diocesan curriculum requirements with relevant Understanding Faith units
- Improvements to the existing search tools, including the Overview Index, Scripture Index, Multimedia Index and Combined Index, making it easier for users to locate relevant content and resources.
These updates form part of a broader improvement process focused on refreshing the style, usability and classroom relevance of the Primary resource.
Secondary Resource Updates
Secondary resource development focused on updating existing content and preparing new material across several areas.
Completed work included:
- Full updates to Secondary Units 0, 1 and 2
- Updates and enhancements to interactive activities and slideshows
- Improvements to images and the visual presentation of content
- Conversion of podcasts within updated units to the new format
- Inclusion of a range of new multimedia resources
- Addition of the new Secondary Unit 66, The Gospel of John in Historical Context, including supporting multimedia
- Update of all Glossary PDF documents to the new format and visual style
- Introduction of a new embedded curriculum mapping tool designed to directly link diocesan curriculum requirements with relevant Understanding Faith units
- Improvements to the existing search tools, including the Overview Index, Scripture Index, Multimedia Index and Combined Index, making it easier for users to locate relevant content and resources.
These updates continue to improve the user experience, strengthen multimedia support and ensure that content remains engaging and relevant for classroom use.
